How stupid are you? I wisely thought
My stupidity had got me by the balls and I began to chuckle. I then went cross-eyed with confusion and began to role-play in my head. How can I be so stupid and so wise? Am I intelligent? What a stupid question!
A level of intelligence that cannot be graded.
I started laughing. Well it was a chuckle, a joyful chuckle, rising from the depths. My belly was wobbling.
'Stop laughing, I am in pain' That made me laugh harder. 'This is not funny'
I zipped my mouth shut and my cheeks blew out. The stupidity had got me by the balls. So I quietly simmered. I tried to listen. Eventually I calmed down. I came to a peaceful place. I had not heard a word. It didn't seem to matter. There was nothing to work out. Not for me anyway.
Someone just showed me the hot potato they were juggling. I was like, 'That's a hot potato!' I thought they were trying to pass it to me. 'No, not for me, thank you.'
I went cross-eyed with confusion and began to role-play in my head. Less dangerous socially speaking. At least where I grew up.
Why don't you put it down?
Oh ok, you like being stupid.
Oh ok, you don't think you are being stupid?!
Oh ok, maybe I am the stupid one here :)
I am the stupid one! F@#k!
That was very intelligent, I thought. And then I wondered...
What does this have to do with the regenerative educator's core process of developing intelligence?
I went cross-eyed with confusion, again, and began to role-play in my head. Less dangerous socially speaking. At least where I grew up.
Should I tell them they are stupid or that I am stupid?
No, that won't work.
Should I show them how stupid they are or for me to just be stupid?
Yup, that won't work either.
What if they saw their own stupidity?
How would I do that?
Could I mock them in a great flock of Bouffon-ery?
Yes and no :/
So no Bouffon-ery : (
And then the Wise One thought: "If you cannot see yourself..."
And most of the time I cannot, I agreed. Well, at least I think I cannot, but maybe it's because I am looking for something different. Something that is other than the obvious. That is right in front of my face!
Idiot!
Like that piece of rubbish on the ground over there. 'That is not me,' I say to that piece of rubbish. 'You are someone else's.'
And then the Wise One thought: "You don't see the world as it is..."
Oh no?! That rubbish is me!
Sufferin' succotash!
I am so stupid. And I am so wise.
That stupefied* me :0)
I just sat there. Looking at the rubbish. And I began to chuckle again.
*stupefy = awakening a sense of awe and wonder
